Hub, the National Centre for Craft and Design, will be hosting a 'Guitars' exhibition this winter, featuring the work of "over thirty of the UK's most celebrated contemporary guitar makers".

The exhibition has been organised in conjunction with Gordon Giltrap, who contacted a selection of makers early last year, including myself. We were all tasked with creating a 'special guitar' for the event.

I decided to take as my starting point the Purple Special that I created last year, but took it a stage further with a gold surface fabric, to complement the all-gold metalwork. I hope it should stand out OK at the exhibition!

If you'd like to see 'Guitars', the Hub is a very impressive building, based in Sleaford, Lincolnshire and it will be running from 22nd November to 18th January 2009.
